Sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AirParrotDriver.kext Sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/APExtFramebuffer.kext Open Terminal in /Applications/Utilities. Air Parrot Extensions cause the problem.I tried out Air Parrot for like a day then uninstalled it, but I or Clean My Mac missed some parts.ġ. I will copy it in here and share the link.Īnd the solution is in the comments. I have had, Menu Display, Air Parrot, Duet, on previous machines from years ago and I may have hidden library files conflicting with AirPlay on the current iMac I am using. Which 3rd party softwares are know to cause conflicts with AirPlay? This seems like the only logical cause of the Black Screen. I still do not have any option to extend my display and all I get on my Apple TV4 is a black screen with text. Upon start up I reset the PRAM, just in case. After deleting these app and all library files (that I could find), I shut down my iMac. Once connected on the iMac, I see this in the menu bar optionsįurthermore, I recently deleted, duet & display menu from my iMac as well as completely turned off the firewall. Once connected on the Mac Mini, I see this in the menu bar options I can see all of the options one would normally see in the apple menu and in display preferences. The Airplay options in my Apple menu seem incomplete.ĪirPlay does however work PERFECT on a newer Mac Mini. The audio works fine when streaming from iMac's iTunes app, but not the display. I recently got an Apple TV (4) and when I activate Airplay, the HD TV just shows a black screen, when streaming from my iMac (Late 2013).
